Trip Summary
I have always wanted to go to India, but never found the right opportunity. When friends in NYC sent invitations to their New Year’s Eve wedding in Jaipur, it was the perfect reason to make the trip.
The wedding was three days long. Aiming for a ~10 day trip, that left me with five days of sightseeing. I scoured the internet for the most important things to see in India (the Taj Mahal was obvious), and narrowed it down to a five-day itinerary covering three major cities.
The trip was one of my favorites in a very long time. The once-in-a-lifetime wedding, all the delicious foods I had the chance to try, and the rich cultural experiences meant the trip was an endless spate of new and wonderful experiences. 5-star hotels and private tours with local guides made the trip even more memorable.
The first four days were devoted to travel and the wedding, followed by one day in Agra, two days in Delhi, and two days in Mumbai. Because five days in three cities can go by quickly, I boiled down the itinerary to the essentials and prioritized each day’s activities – that way if unexpected delays came up, we could quickly re-route to what was most important to us.
I hope you enjoy and feel inspired to take a trip to India of your own.
